Nature Bingo: Leverhulme Centre for Anthropocene Biodiversity, College Wellbeing Team, PLaY Group
Bingo cards are a simple but effective way to provide playful structure to activities, and to motivate repetitive, playful failure in order to learn. Bingo cards can be used in solo or group activities depending on the desired outcomes. We have two examples of Bingo cards here: Nature Bingo and Error Bingo.
Nature Bingo is for people who know they want to spend time outside but don’t know what to do when they get there. The Bingo Card provides a gentle nudge, and incentivises a longer stay outdoors.
Error Bingo incentivises new programmers to experiment with their code, to find as many errors as possible and tick them off. Thus, students are motivated rather than frustrated by their failures, supporting a growth mindset.
