Games for Adult Education

Design advice to develop, adopt or adapt games as learning experiences for adults

This workshop from Liz Cable and Dr Laura Mitchell provides design advice to develop, adopt or adapt tabletop games to create learning experiences for adults. The workshop is not subject-specific and will focus on how different game mechanics and types can create learning opportunities. It will help you in considering your choice of story, simulation, strategy, skills, socialising, as you are guided through the design of an educational game prototype. It will conclude with the ‘boss level challenge’ of playtesting: can your prototype hold up to the educational constraints of budget, curriculum, scale, accessibility and adaptability?
